Brainworx appoints ex-UA President Matt Ward as CEO of Brainworx USA

High-quality audio plug-in developer and analogue modelling specialist Brainworx is proud to announce that it has appointed former President of Universal Audio, Inc. Matt Ward as CEO of its newly-formed US division, Brainworx USA.

Prior to his ten-year-tenure in executive management at Universal Audio, Ward worked in product management for other prominent companies in the professional audio and music industries, including Studer Revox, Otari, and E-mu Systems. More recently, he has served as a strategic advisor to other notable companies such as Manley Labs and PreSonus.

As of now, Ward will be focusing on developing new business opportunities and assisting with distribution and marketing efforts for both Brainworx and its American sister company, Plugin Alliance, in the US. Ward will also be working directly with Brainworx Germany CEO Dirk Ulrich on growth strategies for the entire Brainworx family of companies.

“I am proud and excited to announce both the formation of Brainworx USA and Matt Ward taking up its CEO position,” pronounces Ulrich. “Matt has been a friend and mentor of mine for several years, and, following his work with Universal Audio and beyond, he is the perfect fit for Brainworx with his widely-spread contacts and the respect he has gained for himself in the pro audio industry.”

For Ward, the feeling is mutual: “Brainworx has rapidly risen through the ranks to become a market leader in plug-in development. The passion that they have for high-quality audio is readily apparent in their products. There is tremendous potential for growth, and I’m excited by the possibilities. Dirk Ulrich and I have been friends for years. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see all those ideas we’ve talked about taking shape.”

Having already started Brainworx USA, February 2014 sees new CEO Ward and Brainworx owner Ulrich opening a new office in Scotts Valley, California to assist with focusing on business development and growth strategies.

Since 2006 Brainworx Germany has developed a reputation for creating sonically-advanced plug-in tools and also a self- developed multi-platform framework that is second to none. Brainworx highlights include the M/S-standard EQ, bx_digital, and world-class guitar amp simulations. As the development team behind Plugin Alliance, Brainworx runs the software business for some of the biggest names in pro audio. As such, partners include SPL (Germany), Shadow Hills Industries (USA), Millennia Music & Media Systems (USA), Mäag Audio (USA), elysia (Germany), Dangerous Music (USA), and many more besides. 2014 sees the formation of Brainworx USA with newly-appointed CEO Matt Ward working with Brainworx owner Dirk Ulrich to focus on business development and growth strategies, as well as opening a new office in Scotts Valley, California.
